What to Expect

I know how overwhelming it can be to reach out for help. It can require a huge amount of courage and trust that you are making the right choice. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation if you would like, so that we can think together about the difficulties, what you’re hoping for, and work out if we might be the right fit.
Initial assessment appointment - £150
If you want to go ahead with accessing support from Attached Psychology, we would book an initial assessment, which is a paid appointment, and is 80 minutes online or face-to-face, with or without your infant/child/young person. This provides us both with the opportunity to understand your position in more detail and think together about what might be helpful. If you wish to proceed then we would book in regular therapy sessions at an agreed time and day that would remain the same each week or fortnight.
If following the initial assessment you feel like now is not the right time to access support afterall, or that Attached Psychology actually isn’t right for you, there is no obligation to commit to therapy. It is just really helpful to know that you don’t want to go ahead, so that we don’t worry about you, or chase you when you don’t want to hear from us.
Therapy - £120 per session
Therapy sessions are charged at £120 for 50 minutes to 1 hour. It is really hard to say how many sessions might be right for you and your family. We understand the implications of paying for therapy and will work with you to think about a therapy package that is realistic for you to commit to. We will have regular reviews together to check in with how it is all feeling, being thoughtful about how we begin and end together from the very start.
Please note Attached Psychology is not a crisis service and has not been set up to manage high levels of risk or significant safeguarding concerns. If you are concerned about your safety or the safety of someone close to you please contact 999 in the case of an emergency, the Samaritans on 116 123, or for less urgent concerns contact your GP.
